Last week, in THIS blog post, I revealed how I’ve developed a system that automatically gets me sales and subscribers. There were a lot of fantastic comments. I think you realise now what a simple business model it is – and how profitable it can be.

This is just a short post to give you even further motivation that this is the business model for you.

Here’s what happened.

Every Saturday, me and my friends at university, gather for 3pm to watch all the football (soccer) results come through. Last Saturday we’d just settled down with a few beers and I decided to check my email one last time.

My email showed that I’d made three new sales of Accelerated List Building. That’s not unusual, but what was unusual was that they had all come in the last three minutes. I checked the sales receipts and noticed that they’d all come from the same affiliate. I checked the name of the affiliate and immediately recognised the name. He’s not one of the big guru marketers, but he’s definitely a guy with a lot of power, and I assume a pretty big list.

From that point on, I knew I was in for an exciting few hours. I completely lost focus on the football, and instead spent most of the time with my laptop open watching my emails.

A new sales receipt was coming through every one, two or three minutes. This carried on for about four hours, and then the sales gradually started to decline. (Although there were still sales coming through every 10-15 minutes).

By the next morning sales were still being generated by this affiliate at a rate of about one sale per half an hour, but then by the early afternoon something strange happened.

The sales started flooding in again at a rate of every few minutes. I checked a few sales receipts and noticed most of these sales were from another affiliate. After a little bit of digging, I found out that this affiliate had purchased my product a few hours earlier after being referred by the previous affiliate.

Then more sales started coming through from customers who had become affiliates. Sales were flooding in and all because of the viral nature of the business model.

After only 72 hours, I’d made over 300 sales!

You see, on my download page I explain six steps my customer should take to get the most from their purchase.

Step 1: I explain they should confirm their email address to get updates, great content and special offers.

Step 2: I provide them with the download links for Accelerated List Building.

Step 3: I reveal a special offer where they can grab a DVD to an entire two day workshop for just the price of postage. If a customer decides to take this offer then they get given a fully disclosed two week trial to a $97 per month continuity program. I’m a member myself and believe it to be the best coaching club in the market. Anyway, I get 50% of each rebill. Here’s the offer in case you want to check it out.

Step 4: I encourage my customer to check out a special offer for The Super List Building System. It’s a $297 box set. It was an intensive six week training course I took with a top marketer. It was a fantastic course, so I paid a lot of money to grab a reseller license so that I can share it with my customers. You can take a look at it here.

Step 5: I give the download links for all the bonus products I advertised, plus I include a few extra bonuses I didn’t advertise. Over delivering like this helps to cement solid relationships with customers.

Step 6: (This is the clever bit) I explain to my customer how they can become an affiliate and resell Accelerated List Building to make instant commissions. A large proportion of them at least register as an affiliate and some of them do a promotion, whether it’s just a Tweet to their followers, a review on their blog, or a solo mailing to their subscribers. Plus, once I have someone registered as an affiliate, I use a secret system to encourage them to promote my product. I’ll reveal exactly what I do in a new blog post either tomorrow or the day after. I’ve written this article quickly to share with you how I’m able to build massive lists of PROVEN buyers that trust, like and WANT to buy from me and how this system can be replicated in any niche you want to.

I’m sure a lot of you understand now that having a list of subscribers is the most guaranteed way to make money online. Even better than that though: having your own list of subscribers who have previously BOUGHT something from you is a sure fire way to online wealth. (Providing your list is large enough and you treat them well, of course!)

I’ve developed my own system (I say it’s my system, but there are hundreds of others using this and to great effect, but I’ve tailored it and adapted it to work just that little bit better than average) to build massive, auto-pilot lists of PROVEN buyers with just a few hours of work per week.

It’s a fantastic system, and if you’ve been struggling to decide which route or system to follow with your business, then this might just be the one for you!

Here it is, in a step-by-step, do-this, do-that system for you to copy and follow. Plus, I’ll use one of my real life examples. (In fact, this example is probably the reason you are one of my subscribers!)

Step #1
Develop Your Front End Product

The first thing we want to be doing is selling a low priced, high value front end product for between $7-15. These products are great because you can deliver extreme value at a very low price to your customers. This will make them love you and want to buy from you in the future.

Your product can be a special report about 15-20 pages long, or an audio or a video about an hour long. In truth, the length doesn’t matter, as long as you deliver solid, actionable content that your readers will be happy with.

The example I’m using is my product Accelerated List Building. It’s 27 pages of no fluff, do-this, do-that steps that anyone can follow to build massive subscriber lists from scratch.

Step #2
Develop Your Front End Sales Page

Not everyone’s great at copywriting. In fact, I’m not very good either. I got lucky with Accelerated List Building because I had a believable story that had actually happened to me. It hooked readers in and pulled in the sales.

If you aren’t good at copywriting, then you’ll need to hire someone good for this step. It doesn’t matter what it costs, because a high front end conversion is essential to this entire system.

Accelerated List Building sells for $10 and I was happy at first when it was converting at 4%. But then I added a few more bonuses and edited some of the copy and now it converts at 7% for cold traffic and often over 10% for joint venture endorsed traffic. For that reason, affiliates LOVE to promote my product – and we’ll get to that now.

Step #3
Develop Your Affiliate Program

Our affiliate program is what makes our list building and our income so automatic. The great thing is we get other people to do 99% of the work for us utilising the resources they’ve spent years to develop.

I’m only going to recommend one affiliate management system because it’s the only one I’ve used and probably the only one you’ll ever need to get this system working.

It’s called Rapid Action Profits and you may have heard me mention it a few times!

One of the reasons RAP is so good is because you can automatically opt your customers into your Aweber mailing list without them knowing about it, thus building your list. And that’s the main aim of this system.

Set the commissions up so that you pay 100% on all front end sales. It may sound like a lot, but with low priced products like these, it’s the only way to get affiliates that will make substantial sales. Plus, we aren’t looking for front end revenue in this model.

The next thing you’ll want to do is develop an affiliate “sales page”. This is used to persuade a potential affiliate to join your program and promote your product. It doesn’t need to be too fancy. Take a look at mine here.

State the conversion data (if you have it) and outline the exact offer.

Next you’ll want to develop some affiliate tools, especially solo emails. Broadcasts to subscribers are how most affiliates will be promoting your product, so make your emails good. If you can’t write effective ad copy, then pay someone else to do it. Put these solo emails in your affiliate centre. You can take a look at my affiliate centre by becoming an affiliate.

Step #4
Building & Profiting From Your List

Like I’ve already mentioned, we want to build a list of buyers using this system so that we can profit from them way into the future.

Using Rapid Action Profits we can set it up so that once a customer purchases the front end product, then their email address is automatically added to our Aweber list.

Set your RAP system to do this for you automatically.

Next you need to develop a follow up sequence that funnels your customers into other higher priced products. Remember: this is where the money is.

Because these subscribers have previously purchased a product from you and (hopefully) had a positive experience, then they’ll be ten times more likely to purchase products you recommend compared to an ordinary subscriber.

Step #5
Recruiting Motivated Affiliates

Because I have an affiliate program that delivers a fantastic visitor value for my affiliates, I have 790 registered affiliates. 121 of these affiliates have made AT LEAST one sale. I have one affiliate who has over 300 sales (and gets 3-4 per day, every day), I have two affiliates who have over 200 sales each, and I have five affiliates who have over 100 sales each, as well as countless others who have made 10+ sales.

There is one thing more than any other that motivates affiliates: money. The more money an affiliate can earn per visitor they send, the more affiliates you will recruit. In the next step I’ll reveal how I’ve improved my affiliate program to maximise the visitor value to get top affiliates.

For this step though, here’s a few ways to FIND affiliates for your product:

  1. Find people in your market with mailing lists by searching for your main keywords in Google.
  2. Find people publishing articles on EzineArticles.com
  3. Find fellow product owners in your market through the Clickbank.com and Paydotcom.com market places. Often a reciprocal mailing for their product will encourage them to promote your product.
  4. Find bloggers in your market and ask them to write a review of your product on their blog.
  5. Post on forums, such as The Warrior Forum in the JV section, asking if anyone would be interested in promoting your product.

There’s a few ways to get you started.

Step #6
Increase Your Visitor Value, Increase Your Number Of Motivated Affiliates, Increase Your Number Of Sales, Increase Your Profits

As I’ve already said – affiliates promote products that can give them the biggest visitor value. The higher we can increase our visitor value, the more affiliates we can get, and the more sales will come.

Here’s a few things I’ve done to increase my VV for Accelerated List Building:

  • Increase your front end sales conversion. Remember how I said that I increased my sales conversion from 4% to 7% on cold traffic? That led to a $0.40 visitor value increasing to a $0.70 visitor value. So every 100 visitors would give me an extra $30. For JV endorsed traffic the conversion rate has remained steady at around 10%.
  • Add a OTO. Once a customer purchases Accelerated List Building they instantly see a OTO for a $14.95 per month membership. About 18% join this membership and on average stay a member for three months. The OTO is for Exponential List Building and I give affiliates 50% commission.
  • Add an up sell. On the download page a customer sees an offer for The Super List Building System for $297. This DVD course is also sold through a series of emails. It’s only been added as an up sell recently, so no conversion data has been extracted yet, but if it just converts at 1% then that’s a massive increase on the visitor value. Affiliates get 50% commissions on this product too.

Using the conversion data above, here’s what an average affiliate could earn from just 1,000 visitors.

1,000 visitors = 100 sales of Accelerated List Building = $1,000

100 sales of ALB = 18 members to Exponential List Building X 3 months average stay at 50% commission = $404

100 sales of ALB = 1 sale of The Super List Building System at $297 and 50% commission = $150

So, from just 1,000 unique visitors an average affiliate can earn over $1,550.

Adding the OTO has increased the visitor value, and adding the up sell has increased the visitor value yet again to make it almost impossible for an affiliate not to promote my product.

I could optimize this further by:

  • · Increasing the front end sales conversion even more
  • · Increasing the conversion for the OTO
  • · Increasing the member retention for the OTO
  • · Increasing the conversion for the $297 up sell.
  • · Adding more up sells that affiliates can earn from.

This is such an easy business model, such an easy way to build a list, and such an easy way to create an automated income online that grows continuously.

Imagine selling 5,000 copies. Imagine how much money you could get through OTO sales. Imagine how much money you could make through your up sells. Imagine how much money you could make from doing a broadcast to 5,000 BUYING subscribers.

This is only a brief overview of the entire process. The Super List Building System reveals EXACTLY how to replicate this system to produce maximum profits. The first thing we need to do is get prospects into our sales funnel. Once we have them as subscribers, we can build a relationship and get them to like, know and trust you - then we can get them to buy products from you that increase in price.

Create a product that delivers incredible value and share some of your best products.

Essential Element #2
A Continuity Program

I’ve claimed this as an essential element. It probably isn’t essential, but definitely will ramp up your profits massively.

If you can offer a recurring payment membership then do it. It’s a great way to create a guaranteed monthly income.

It also doesn’t require a lot of time to maintain - perhaps one day per month to create the content. You’ll find that some members will remain subscribed for a very, very long time.

I promoted one membership offer a long time ago. It only costs $19 per month. I referred about 20 people and I still have about four people subscribed. They’ve been billed for 37 months.

Lee reveals the secrets of how he is able to have over 1,400 members in his $97 per month continuity program  in The Internet Automation Plan. This webinar alone is worth 10 times the price of the whole course.

Essential Element #3
High Value Offers

Selling products for three figure sums gives you a massive profit per sale. This is where you make a lot of your money.

Create a few high value offers selling for $200+ that you can offer to your subscribers in your follow up sequence.

Essential Element #4
An Effective Follow Up Sequence

Your follow up sequence is where you link all these offers together. Your prospect opts in for your lead generation product and are added to a follow up sequence designed to sell your continuity offer and your high value offers.

You need your sequence to deliver fantastic content, display some of your personality AND then to sell your products.

You’ll need that relationship of trust and liking if your prospects are going to part with their hard earned cash and purchase your products.

Essential Element #5
A Motivated Sales Army

This is how you drive 95% of your traffic. No matter if you’re the best traffic generator in the world; a motivated sales army (in the form of affiliates) will outperform your efforts massively. (And free up a lot of your time!)

If you have the above essential elements in place, then recruiting and motivating affiliates is incredibly easy.

Offer affiliates 50% or more for all of your products in your sales funnel. Get them to drive traffic to your lead generation product and then you do the job of selling as many of your offers as possible.

If you can offer your affiliates a greater visitor value ($ per visitor they send) then affiliates will be begging to promote your products and will be massively motivated to spend the time and effort to drive leads to your business.

Those elements are the essential ingredients. I’ve only of course outlined each element and there are other optional elements that will massively grow your profits.

How To Create A 10k Per Month Business From Scratch

If you haven’t made any money online yet, then 10k per month may seem a long way off… but it may well be a lot closer than you think. If you want to hit the dizzy heights of five figures per month then you need to stop thinking of selling $27 eBooks, or creating Adsense sites, or article marketing.

If you want to create a consistent 10k per month online business, then the easiest way to do it is to create a membership site in a large market of potential customers. It must be a market where you can continue to provide information month, after month, after month. Things like dating, internet marketing, health, fitness, gardening etc. There are a lot of markets where you could position your own membership site. You don’t need to do any boring keyword research, or to assess competition, you just need to find a market where customers are already spending money.

Now, let’s work out how many members you’d have to accumulate to reach the $10,000 per month target. Of course, you may not want to earn 10k; maybe 5k will do for you; maybe you want more than 10k. It doesn’t matter with this business because you can continue to scale up your business by recruiting more members.

Anyway to earn 10k per month, you would need:

1,000 members at $10 per month
500 members at $20 per month
330 members at $30 per month
250 members at $40 per month
200 members at $50 per month
100 members at $100 per month

Choose your price point and work out a way to create value at that price. At $10 per month, simply providing one short report per month would probably be sufficient. At this price point there is limited pressure and you wouldn’t have to work your ass off every month to create the monthly content. You would however have to deal with more members which may take up a lot of your time.

At $100 per month, you’d need to provide cutting edge top of the range information in quantity and in a variety of different formats, such as audio, video, text and print. You’d need very good selling skills in able to get customers to part with $100 per month and there would be a lot of pressure on you each month to create the content. On the other hand you could give a more personal touch to each member which may enhance the value and retain members for longer.

It’s up to you which price point you go for. The most important thing is that you provide value for your members; otherwise they’ll leave in a shot.

So, hopefully by now you’ve chosen your market and your price point – now you need to work out what content you want to create each month, and create your first months content. The type and amount of content you create will be dictated by the price you decide to charge.

Like I’ve already said, at a price point of $10 per month you could create just one short 10-12 page report per month and still provide value. At $50 you’d need to create maybe one to two short reports, some premium articles, a 15 minute audio and a short video.

For Exponential List Building I’m providing at least one short report per month, at least one video, at least one audio and a few powerful articles each month – as well as making my email address available for one to one mentoring each month.

The next step is to create your first month of content. Make it some of the best content you ever produce. Show your new members exactly what value they’ll be getting from their subscription.

Next, plan out the next two months content. Do this so that you have a solid idea of what content you will be producing over the next few months so that you can tease your members with phrases like: “we’ll be discussing this in much further detail next month”. This will help with retention.

Next on the agenda is creating your salespage. The salespage would be much like if you were selling a $50 product. Take a look at my Exponential List Building salespage for an example of one that works very well.

The final step in setting up your membership is to get a script to manage both members and affiliates. I use Rapid Action Profits Member Plus because it enables me to run a fully functional protected members area and also to pay affiliates and JV partners automatically.

Once that’s installed and the membership is up and running and ready to take sales then it’s time to start finding affiliates and JV partners – because that’s how you’re gonna get to 100, 200, 500, or 1,000 plus members.

I recommend setting commissions at 50% for regular affiliates and setting up special accounts at 60-70% for partners who could bring you 20+ sales.

Finding affiliates and JV partners is the most important part of the process. It’s where the money is made. That’s why I’ve secured you free access to a fantastic video detailing exactly how to go about finding and securing JVs with top marketers in your niche.

I have an email in my auto-responder that asks my subscribers…

“What level of marketing are you currently at?”

I’ve found that a surprising number of subscribers are just starting out and haven’t made any money online yet… I want to change that. So, I’ve written this short guide to help you start making $1,000 per month quickly. It’s very brief. I might elaborate on it at a later date.

As always I’ll present this business model in a step by step way so you can get going with it quickly.

Step #1
The Market

First you need to pick a target market. You should target a broad market with a lot of products to promote. Things like weight loss, dating, money making, health etc. Check the Clickbank marketplace to make sure there are a number of products you can promote.

Step #2
The Fundamentals

You need a domain, hosting and an auto-responder. You’ll need these throughout your online career. For hosting I use Bluehost.com and register my domains through them as well. For an auto-responder I use Aweber.

Step #3
The Free Report

You need to create a report that you give away to encourage visitors to part with their email address. The report only needs to be 5-10 pages. You can write it yourself, hire someone else to write it, compile a series of private label articles or simply use a private label report.

Step #4
The Squeeze Page

We need a simple squeeze page now that encourages people to submit their email address. Here’s one of my squeeze pages that you can model yours on.

Step #5
The Opt-In Process

Once a prospect opts-in redirect them to a page which explains how to confirm their email address. Also present them with an offer for an affiliate product.

Once a prospect has confirmed their email address, redirect them to the download page. After the download link present them with another offer for an affiliate product.

These are just small ways to squeeze money from your opt-in process.

Step #6
The Follow-Up Sequence

The follow up sequence is where the real money is made.

You need to create a deep, cash producing follow- up sequence. This is where you schedule emails to go out on set days after a prospect has subscribed. The emails should include valuable, informative articles, as well as promotions for affiliate products. Even in the articles you can include subtle affiliate links.

Here’s how I set up most of my follow-up sequences.

Day 1: Article

Day 2: Article

Day 3: Promo

Day 5: Article

Day 7: Article

From then on I schedule emails four days apart with about 70% of emails being content and 30% promotions. Develop your sequence so that it’s very deep and goes on for at least a year. You don’t have to create a whole years worth of content before you start getting subscribers. Have a weeks’ worth of emails ready and just keep adding to them as time goes on.

Super Time Saving Tip: Many product owners offer their affiliates tools, including ready made solo emails and reprintable articles. Simply plug these into your auto-responder and you don’t have to worry about content creation. Another way to save time is to buy a ready made follow up sequence. Subscribers will continue to get emails until they decide to unsubscribe. Many will purchase a product from you. Some will purchase two, three, four, five or more.

You can find products that pay over $100 commission or you can find membership sites that pay commissions monthly to ramp up your profits.

Once you get a feel for the best converting offers, move them to the front of your follow-up sequence. Subscribers are more responsive the newer they are.

Step #7
Driving Traffic

Everything is set up now, it’s simply about driving traffic now. The more leads you pump into your follow-up sequence, the more money will drop into your bank account. It’s as simple as that.

I’m not going to talk about generating traffic in this article. But I am going to send you somewhere that will teach you how to drive THOUSANDS of visitors per DAY to your squeeze page.

Do you know how much money you would make with this business model if you are driving thousands of visitors to your squeeze page every day?

Anyway, I used to SUCK at getting traffic. I’d struggle to get over 30 visitors per day. Then I got Automatic Traffic Blast, implemented the strategies and now I get thousands of visitors every single day.

Hi everyone

If you’ve been keeping up with my emails in the last few weeks and months, you will have noticed the launch of my latest product Accelerated List Building.

I launched it about 10 weeks ago, and so far I’ve made 783 sales, despite having to study for exams for about a month of this time. That’s over 78 sales per week, or 11 sales per day. In this blog post I’m going to share how I’ve managed to generate such a consistently high number of sales every week on complete auto-pilot… and how you can do the same.

First of all, here’s proof.

If you’ve read my report Accelerated Niche Profits (you can download your copy HERE), you will know that my favourite business model is to create a low value $7-15 entry product and then to funnel these customers into higher priced products. I’ve funnelled Accelerated List Building customers into a number of higher priced products.

First of all after a customer purchased I presented them with a $17 one time offer (OTO). 104 customers purchased the OTO. 67 of those payments were made to me, the rest were made to affiliates. That’s $1,139 straight off the bat.

As a result of Accelerated List Building, I’ve sold 9 copies of a $197 product at 50% commission, 5 copies of a $97 product at 50% commission and 5 copies of a $47 product at 50% commission. That’s 1.25k in sales, bringing the total to around $2,400.

The best thing of all though, is that I’ve funnelled about 53 of my customers into a $97 PER MONTH coaching club. It’s called the Momentum Gold Coaching Club. Who knows what that could be worth over the next few months and years? Potentially tens of thousands of dollars on complete auto-pilot.

Here’s how I’ve done it so you can replicate my success.

First of all, you need a hot product in a hot market. Target the mass markets, such as weight loss, make money, self improvement, relationships etc. but target a specific section of this market. So if you were targeting the relationships market then you could create a $10 product about how to get your ex back. Create a HOT salespage that converts like crazy. Accelerated List Building converts at an average of 7%, but has converted up to 10.2% with endorsed JV traffic. Affiliates will only promote products that convert.

Pay affiliates 100% commission on your front end product. Affiliates love this. Use the Rapid Action Profits script to manage it all. It’s a fantastic script.

If you can, set up a OTO for between $17-47. Pay affiliates 50% on the OTO. This will just sweeten the deal for them making them more likely to promote.

Make sure that once a customer purchases your product they are automatically added to your list. This is very simple to do with Rapid Action Profits.

That’s the fundamentals set up. Now it’s time to start getting sales.

First of all, if you have an existing list of subscribers related to the product then blast an email out to them. When I launched Accelerated List Building I sent an email to my existing subscribers and had made over 110 sales in 72 hours. The power of a list is incredible.

The only other traffic generation strategy I’ve used to promote Accelerated List Building is to recruit JV partners and affiliates.

I’m going to outline a number of methods I used to FIND affiliates, and then I’ll reveal how to make sure they promote for you.

First of all finding affiliates:

Go to your favourite search engines and type in keywords related to your product. So if you’ve created an anti-aging product, then type in ANY phrase you can think of such as “anti aging tips”, “anti aging secrets”, “look younger”, “feel younger”, “anti aging foods”, “anti aging supplements”. Also try searches such as “anti aging blog” and “anti aging newsletter”. Make a note of the top sites and their email address. Contact them with a unique JV proposal.

Go to EzineArticles.com and go to the category related to your product. Look at the most recently added articles and click through to the link in the resource box. Find a contact email on that website and contact them with your proposal. This is a good method because the majority of authors on EzineArticles.com are marketers and so understand affiliate marketing.

Go to Clickbank.com and search through the marketplace. Find related, but not competing, products and contact the owner asking him/her to promote your product.

Using the above three methods should enable you to find literally hundreds of affiliates that you can contact. BUT, getting people to promote for you is not as simple as simply sending a generic email to hundreds of people. Here’s what your proposal email should include.

Firstly, you should include conversion data. Affiliates want to promote products that produce the greatest amount of profit for them. If you can prove that your product converts at 10% then affiliates are going to want to promote. Stress the point that for every visitor they send they will get an average of $1 for every single visitor they send.

Secondly, include a review copy of your product. Affiliates are only going to promote products that their customers will love. Your product needs to be top quality if you are to get the best quality partners to promote for you.

Thirdly, offer the affiliate a bonus for a high number of sales. If an affiliate makes 30 or more sales, I allow them to add an auto-responder message to go out to my 4,000 internet marketing subscribers. This allows you to secure the bigger affiliates and that’s what you want.

Finally, offer the affiliates tools, such as solo emails so that they can promote right away.

I aim to contact three or four potential affiliates per day, but due to exams and other commitments I’ve barely spent any time doing this. Yet still the sales keep rolling in.

And the more sales come in, the more buyers I get on my list, the more buyers I funnel into higher priced products, and the more buyers I funnel into the $97 per month coaching club.

This is an incredible business model that ANYONE can replicate… including you!

How To Get Your First 100 Subscribers The Easy Way

When subscribers email me with their questions, the most common seems to be…

“How can I build a targeted list of subscribers EASILY?”

Everyone wants their own list of subscribers. The freedom you have is incredible. If you need some extra cash, then you simply have to send a special offer at the click of a button and then watch the sales roll in.

It’s a fantastic feeling.

Many people struggle getting going though – so I’ve written this article detailing my personal experience to help you get going FAST.

Reaching the dizzy heights of 10,000, 20,000, even up to 50,000 subscribers or more seems like climbing Mount Everest. But when you break it down into chunks it seems a lot more manageable.

If you can get 100 subscribers, then all you need to do is replicate that 100 times and you have 10,000 subscribers.

I’m going to give you an inside peak into one of my small niche lists to show you how I generated over 100 subscribers with a $40 investment and two hours’ worth of effort. The list is actually now way above 100 and grows by about 5 or 6 per day.

So, how did I do it?

Step #1
The set-up

If you haven’t got a squeeze page set up yet collecting subscribers, then you need to do that first. I’m sure you’ve seen squeeze pages a million times before. Pick your favourites and model your own page on that.

The squeeze page I was driving traffic to in this experiment was http://www.firmupyourabs.com/1.html

That page took all of 20 minutes to create, yet it converts at around 35%. I haven’t even done any testing on this page. I could easily bump this conversion up to 50% with a few small tweaks.

Step #2
Find a writer, get some articles

We need some articles created now. You can write them yourself, but having them written for you is a much more time efficient method and you can get decent articles for very cheap.

Go to elance.com or scriptlance.com to find your article writer.

I paid $40 to have a writer create 10 articles for me. I also wrote 3 myself, giving me a total of 13 articles to use.

Step #3
Article submission

I then went to EzineArticles.com and submitted the 13 articles. 8 of them I submitted in March, the other 5 I submitted in April. (This was purely because I got bored and distracted).

Of course in the article resource box you want to link back to your squeeze page so the reader heads to your site and hopefully subscribes – after all that is the main goal.

Step #4
The results

Now is simply time to watch as traffic steadily and consistently rolls into your site. Your number of opt-ins rises and your profits grow exponentially as more people are added to your follow up sequence.

Here’s how my numbers panned out.

In total my articles were read 2,155 times resulting in 403 clicks to my squeeze page.

Given that my squeeze page conversion was 35%, that means my $40 and two hour investment was worth 141 subscribers.

Ask any list builder what they would rather have - $40 or 141 subscribers and everyone would say the latter.

Not only that but I’m also getting organic search engine traffic due to a boost in rankings due to the backlinks created by these articles.

Many say article marketing is dead… I say it’s still very much alive and I’m living proof.

My Super Simple Business Model That YOU Can Copy

Over the last few years I’ve developed and refined a simple, easily replicable system for building a solid, long term, ever growing business in ALMOST any niche – and today I want to share my system with you all as my pay back to the WF.

As I always like to do, I’ll be presenting the system in a step-by-step method for you to get going with it quickly. You won’t discover any “groundbreaking” secrets, but this outline may help you organise all the knowledge you do have into one simple system.

Step #1
Market Identification

I know this sounds boring. Finding a market seems to be the first step in almost every single online business model – but it’s incredibly important. Getting this step wrong will break you before you even get going.

Fortunately, with this business model, picking a profitable niche couldn’t be any simpler. We’re not going for tiny markets – we’re going for the mass markets; things like health, making money, saving money, relationships, self improvement, home improvement, gardening etc.

By targeting these mass markets we have a never ending supply of JV partners, affiliates and more importantly… CUSTOMERS.

Step #2
Product Creation

Once you’ve chosen your main market, you need to identify a killer product to create. Remember we want to target the masses. We don’t want to create a product about “herb gardening” – the market isn’t big enough for us. Instead, go for something like “how to grow the perfect garden”. That opens up thousands more potential buyers.

Creating a product is much easier than you probably think. The product we’re creating doesn’t need to be long. 20 pages would be sufficient. The information should be quality and succinct. No fluff, no filler, just solid content.

There are a number of ways you can get a product created quickly.

  • Find an expert and interview them with 10 or so questions. This can be done by email, phone, video etc. Pay them a fee or just promise them plenty of exposure. Often they’ll be happy to do it.
  • Find a writer who has an in depth knowledge of your topic area and pay them to create your product. They may charge extra for their expertise – but as it’s only a short product it won’t cost an arm and a leg.
  • Get down your local library, rent five or six books on your chosen topic and compile the best information from the books into your report. (No plagiarism, please!)

Give your report a professional design and incorporate a few affiliate links in relevant places for extra profit power.

Step #3
Sales Page Creation & Pricing

This again is much more simple than everyone seems to make out. You need a salespage to sell your product. If you’ve targeted a hungry market then doing this is much easier than expected.

I have no idea how to tap into the “unconscious psychological desires” of prospects (even though I’m studying Psychology at uni) – yet I’m still able to create salespages that convert at around 10%.

The key to doing that is to find out what your prospects’ major problem is, emphasise that problem, and then present the solution (your product). Simple.

I typically price my products at around the $10 mark. It’s high enough so affiliates like it, but still converts at decent rates.

Step #4
Setting Up Your Site For Success

Like we just established, we’ll be selling our product for around $10. But before we start doing this, we need to set up our site in a way that squeezes as much profit as possible.

I use the Rapid Action Profits (RAP) script to handle all of this. The first thing we need to do is set our commission level at 100%. (Easy to do with RAP) Affiliates love this and it means the payments can go directly to their Paypal account. If you’re serious about recruiting affiliates and JV partners then this is essential.

Have buyers automatically added into your list once they purchase. If you are integrating with someone like Aweber then they will need to confirm their email address so offer them a bonus for doing so. (Easy to do with RAP)

You’ll also need to develop a money generating follow-up sequence. Load about 20 or so emails into your follow up sequence. Most of the emails should provide quality content of interest to the subscriber with a subtle pitch to relevant offers, and some should be simple solo emails with the main intention to get people to buy the product you recommend.

If you can, then set up a OTO at a slightly higher price point. $17-$27 has worked best for me. This is a good way to squeeze some extra profit instantly. Pay affiliates 50% on the OTO to attract more affiliates. Again, this is easy to do with RAP.

On your download page provide the customer with their purchase, offer some unadvertised bonuses (to kick off the reciprocity principle) and present them with a higher value product related to the product they just purchased. This can simply be an affiliate product you want to promote. Typical price points that I go for are $97-$297. These can be affiliate products that you get a commission for.

Step #5
Getting JV Partners & Affiliates

JVs and affiliates will be the lifeblood of your business. They’ll be sending pretty much all of your traffic and sales. Recruiting them is much more simple than I used to think. The keys to getting people to promote for you is:

  • Have conversion data with proof and make sure the conversions are GOOD.
  • Provide a typical visitor value. So if Joe Affiliate sends 100 visitors let him know he will make $100 on average, for example.

  • Be personal in your approach emails.
  • Provide a treasure chest of tools affiliates can use, especially solo emails.

Finding affiliates is also much easier than you think. Here’s a few ways you can find affiliates.

  1. Go to each of the main search engines, type in keywords and phrases related to your product. Go to the top 30-40 sites in each search engine and contact them all with your personalised JV proposal. Remember – try to find a phone number and ring them.
  2. Again, go to each of the main search engines and type in “your key phrase blog”. So if your product is ’20 Great First Date Ideas’, then search for “dating blog”. Try different variations too, such as “date ideas blog”, “how to pick up men/women blog” etc. Contact the blog owners and ask them to post a review of your product with their affiliate link, or to put a link or banner ad on the layout of their blog.
  3. Once more, go to all the major search engines and type in “your key phrase newsletter”. So, “dating newsletter”, “how to pick up women newsletter” etc. Contact the newsletter owners and ask them to include a recommendation for your product in their next email, or go all out and ask for them to give you a solo email. Remember the rule of reciprocity. Also try bestezines.com and look for newsletters in the category of your niche.
  4. Go to EzineArticles and the category related to your product. Look through the most recent articles in the category and follow the resource boxes in each article. Go through to the website in at least 20 different articles to find a variety of websites. Lots of these websites will be building a list or will have ad space to advertise your product. Also, go to the “Most Viewed” and “Most Published” articles and click through those author resource boxes. Contact the site owners with your JV proposal. Many of the sites won’t have much traffic, but it’s still worth contacting them.
  5. Go to Squidoo now and find some of the top ranked lenses in the category related to your niche. If the lens fits the topic of your product and you believe the readers of the lens may be interested in your report, then contact the lens master with a quick JV proposal. Often, I can never find contact addresses on Squidoo lenses, so I leave a comment in the guestbook saying something like. “Hi, great lens. I’ve given it 5 stars. I’m just leaving a note to let you know about a new product I’ve created that you could make money promoting on your lens. If you’re interested then head on over to my affiliate page at mysite.com/affiliates for more details and my contact email address. Thanks, James Penn”.
  6. Next, go to the Clickbank marketplace and browse through the products in the category related to your product. Find complimentary, but not competing, products and contact the product owners with your JV proposal. It’s much easier to get these types of JV partners to accept if you offer an ad swap. You promote their product to your list with your affiliate link and they promote your product to their list with their affiliate link.

Step #6
Diversify

Once you have one of these sites set up and running and generating consistent sales, then move onto another one. You could stay in the same market but with a different product and you can cross-sell to your existing buyers, recruit the same JV partners and use your same knowledge of the market.

Once you’ve set one of these sites up it’s very easy to do another. And once you see how easy it is to do with your first one, you’ll be eager to get going with it again.

Even better, because we’ve targeted the mass markets we have a never ending stream of buyers and affiliates.

With a little hard work, you could soon have a list of thousands of BUYERS eager to send you even more money. Those list builders amongst us know the power of having a significant list of buyers.

Hi there,

I could easily write a 100-150 page report on how I did this. I’m going to go through how I did this step-by-step and will try to be as concise and clear as possible.

Step #1: Niche Research - I wanted to find a niche where I knew people were spending money over and over again. I first thought of topics that were close to home. Aha….I was very good at dating. So good, in fact, that I was helping other men how to do it for a fee. My friends kept telling me to write a book about it. But I wasn’t sure. Mind you, this was over 3 years ago but this is the same process I use today. Again, I cannot give away all the details, but this is the crux of it.

Keyword Elite had not even been coded yet when I first did this. So I used the free Overture keyword research tool as well as Wordtracker.

b)) First looked at keywords with 25,00 - 120,000 monthly searches and then checked how much they cost. Adword Analyzer, Keyword Locator, and Keyword Elite are great tools for this. There are other tools that work really well also, but these are the ones I use and the ones that have earned me a good living.

Typed in all the keywords that were on the first page results. I then looked at the competitors on both the natural results and the PPC results. I then go to each of their websites, subscribe to their newsletters or free reports if they have any and I take MASSIVE amount of notes on what they are doing right and what I can do better. And I always find things that I can do better or at least with a slightly different USP (aka as a “hook”).

Step #2 - Feasibility Study: - Does this niche have potential to make me a profit? There are literally dozens of different approaches I can take here, some of them are very complicated and involve a lot of math. But who would have thought that one of the simplest approaches has proven to be one of the most effective.

I join 2 to 4 of the top affiliate programs in the niche. I set up a landing page and start sending PPC traffic from Google and sometimes even Yahoo Search. I aim for at least 100 visitors per day and factor in a 1% sales conversion rate and a 5% refund rate. If I break even after 1,000 visitors, then I know I have a winner. Think about it. If the commission is 50% and I’m making some money, imagine how much better it would be if I had my own product.

Sometimes I still go forward with a project even if it is NOT profitable because I know if I keep even 75-90% of all the profits and add a back-end strategy I can make money. I realize I am over-simplifying this process but this should get the creative juices flowing.

Step #3 - Product Creation: After using anywhere from 100 to 3,000 keywords, depending on the niche, price point, and average cost per click (ACPC) I decide to create the product. I either research it myself (recommended if you’re on a tight budget) or I hire someone to do it. A quick way to create a product is to find someone in your local area to interview and make a podcast out of it or an audio CD or a DVD, which you can sell more since it has a perceived higher value.

Step #4 - Sales Copy: I then set up a squeeze page, very much like the one at www.doubleyourdating.com and make it almost irresistible for people to opt-in. I create an initial 5 to 10 series of emails to EDUCATE my visitor. I also send out one broadcast about once or twice a week to stay in touch with those in my autoresponder system who have already gone through the 5 to 10 lessons. This is just to get you started. I really try to write enough emails to cover 6-12 months where they receive an email from me every 1 to 2 weeks.

This will bring in sales like clockwork once you’ve hit momentum (which means the point where you have enough emails in your responder database where people just start buying. I refer to this as your autoresponder mutual fund because it is an ASSET that you can later sell for big money to large corporations. Think an email list of 10,000 people is only worth 5 or 10k? Not even close. Companies are willing to pay top dollar for a quality list.

So I set up a squeeze page, then a thank you page to remind them to check their email, and I have a link on the thank you page that says “click here to continue” so that they can be directed to your sales page. I’ve seen too many squeeze pages that neglect this….and it’s costing them the immediate sale for those that are “desperate buyers”.

Step #5 - An E-mail Autoresponder Series: Now the squeeze page isn’t there just for show. I will take anywhere from 25 to 50% of the content in the ebook or other infoproduct and I’ll use that content to create a series of 5 to 10 lessons. Here’s a trick that I learned from one of my mentors. While I might only have ten lessons, I also do a broadcast to my list 2 to 4 times a month.

If the broadcast is a timeless form of useful content, I simply ADD it to my already existing autoresponder series! So by the time 6 months goes buy, guess what? You’ve now got an added set of emails that will last at least 6 months! What does this mean for you? You’ll be making sales from people who might take that added 10, 15, or even 50 contacts from you before they buy from you.

For whatever reason they were not READY to buy from you when they read your sales copy. I still have subscribers who’ve been with me for more than a year tell me, “I plan on buying your ebook someday, when I’m good and ready.” And many of them do. How long should your responder series go until? As long as possible. How many days in between the series? Well, I’ll leave that up to you to test because it varies. Usually I’ll space the lessons every 2 to 4 days and then once the email lessons are up I’ll add a broadcast once a week or bi-weekly.

Staying in touch with your list and giving them freebies such as teleseminars, free reports, free podcasts and videos…..go a LONG way in building trust and REPEAT buyers.

Step #6 - The Ten Dollar Broadcast PDF Report: While I was making some sales with my lead product, an ebook. It took me about 90 days of using PPC advertising to build a list of 2,200 double, opt-in prospects. So I decided to spend a day writing a 65 page PDF report that covered 5 important subtopics in this niche (dating advice for men, which as you may know is a very crowded and competitive market place).

I sent out the broadcast around 6:07 pm PST / 9:07 EST on Sunday. And today is now Tuesday late at night. The report cost $10 and after Paypal fees I made about $9.31 for each sale. So far I’ve had 244 sales! Now, that’s pretty high. During those 90 days that I was building my list I also did the following:

1. Sent my entire list a free 45 page field report that basically shared a night on the town on how I picked up on this incredible woman at a nightclub. Because it was a TRUE story it came across that way in the report.

2. I held a free teleseminar, which I didn’t even record, and gave away even more free and valuable content. This allowed my subscribers to hear my voice, my personality, and created more of a bond with many of them.

3. I sent approx. 6 to 10 articles, each covering a very SPECIFIC topic. I got the topic ideas by simply sending out a broadcast using my Aweber account asking them what their #1 issue what with dating women. They told me and I delivered the articles.

Now I’ve got a small confession to make, I didn’t send out that broadcast to the rest of my 8,000 plus subscribers that I had built using another dating niche website. So that’s going to go out as soon as revise and add even more content to the original $10 report. So I’m going to send that revised report to the existing buyers which will also keep my refund rate really low (so far not one single refund yet).

I’m also going to hold a surprise teleseminar for those customers and I’m going to spend 2 hours answering their questions and expounding on that report they just bought.

I haven’t even pitched them my $227 CD audio course, but I’m confident a good % of them will buy it because I’ve given them so much value. I know I can crank out a new report every month if I wanted to and duplicate these results. But I’d rather create a membership site than do that (it’s smarter and creates even more residual income).

I just wanted to share this success from one of my niche sites. If a dummy like me can do it, so can you. I realize that this whole process actually took me 90 days, but I want you to look at the context on why I’m willing to actually lose money sometimes while building my list using PPC. If I’m close to break even and I have back ends such as competitor’s affiliate programs or a high ticket back end then I’ll go for it.

As you can see, as your list gets bigger you can even send out a $10 report and you’ll capture all those people that would not initially spend any money on your 24.95, 27.77, 39.95, or 47 dollar ebook. This ten dollar report also netted me more subscribers to my newsletter, a few more ebook sales, and a couple higher ticket back end sales. But the $2271.64 figure is my net profit after expenses, but not after taxes. Even so it’s a good chunk of change for a couple days of work.

Keep your eye on the prize and don’t believe people when they say PPC doesn’t work at all. I’m living proof and this is just one niche that I’m in. You CAN do it.

The Psychology Of Persuasion & Its Applications To Marketing

I’ve just finished reading a great book called ‘Influence: The Psychology Of Persuasion’. It explains the psychology of why people say “yes” and how to apply these understandings.

The author, Dr. Robert Cialdini, identifies six universal principles that you can use to become an expert persuader.

As a wannabe psychologist I’m really interested in the psychological applications to marketing, and have derived my own applications of these six principles to business online.

Principle #1
Reciprocation

If you do a favour for someone, they are more likely to do one for you. An obvious application is when approaching JV partners. Often you have to go the extra mile to secure JV partners. 50% commissions just doesn’t do it anymore. Now you have to offer favours, such as creating some free content, offering a reciprocal mailing to your subscribers or even cash rewards.

Principle #2
Commitment and Consistency

People like to be consistent with their actions. If they commit to something in writing or orally, then they are more likely to honour that commitment. This is my least favourite of the influence principles, but one part of the book stood out. Big companies often run newspaper ad campaigns which ask people to write 100 word “testimonials” for their product. They often ask for the testimonial to start with “Why I like…”

Participants receive the chance to win huge cash prizes. Those that enter know that, in order to win, they have to write a fantastic testimonial and mention the major benefits of the product. Those who submit these testimonials consequently experience the “magical” pull to believe what they have written and make them more likely to purchase the product.

Principle #3
Social Proof

People like to do what they see other people doing. They especially tend to do what similar others are doing. Women tend to want to do what other women are doing, men tend to want to do what other men are doing, and kids tend to want to do what other kids are doing.

Testimonials on your sales pages are obvious applications of the social proof principle. Perhaps it’s also important that the testimonials are from people within your target market. If you have a product targeting middle aged women and you have a testimonial (no matter how glowing) from a 70 year old man, it may even be detrimental to your sales.

Secondly, phrases such as “Best Selling Gardening Guide Of 2009” may help to boost sales. Remember people like to do what others are doing. If they see that your product is the best selling in your market, they’ll automatically assume it’s the best.

Principle #4
Liking

This is an obvious one. If people like you, they are more likely to buy from you. Simple as that. You can make people like you by injecting your personality into your emails, your articles and your sales pages. In fact, I tried to do this in my most recent sales letter for Accelerated List Building.

Providing incredible value for your prospects, subscribers and customers will also make the liking principle much more powerful.

Principle #5
Authority

Again, this is pretty self-explanatory. Authority figures are trusted more. Who would you rather buy a cancer prevention guide from: Joe Bloggs or Dr. Joe Bloggs?

The latter, I expect.

Principle #6
Scarcity

This is a really effective tactic. It’s used in all the major launches. How many times have you seen a sales page state that “Only 1,000 copies will be sold”?

Perceived scarcity encourages demand for a product. Offers that are available “for a limited time only” are highly effective in generating quick sales. The fear of missing out on something also motivates people to buy.

It’s important to mention that this is a business building system, not just a money making one. This system enables you to build a long term business that you can grow and leverage.

I think this is my favourite system. It’s simple, easy to implement, affordable, can be replicated and you don’t need to be a marketing genius to make it work for you. It works for me :)

#1 – Driving Traffic

Sorry to bore you with this, but traffic IS the lifeblood of your business. There is no way to make money online without traffic, and especially using this system.

There are an incredible amount of traffic generation strategies. I won’t share them all. Over the life of this blog you’ll hear the great majority of them. In this post I’ll simply explain the mindset behind traffic generation.

What you need to realise is that there is no such thing as free traffic. If time is money and it takes you time to generate traffic, then that has cost you.

The important thing with traffic is to work out how much traffic a strategy can produce and how much money that traffic will generate you.

If you work out that on average each article you produce and submit takes an hour to create and that each article generates you an average of 20 visitors and each visitor is worth $1 to you… then are you prepared to work for $20 per hour.

As an internet marketer you don’t want an income that’s relative to the time you invest. An income that’s completely relative to the time you invest is just like having a JOB!

Of course, there is a correlation between the amount of effort you invest and your online income, but we want to be able to make money while we sleep, while we’re out, even while we’re on holiday.

Instead of continuous time investments, it would be more efficient to spend an hour setting up a Google Adwords campaign.

Instead of spending one hour to create $20 with article marketing, it would be better to spend $10 with Google Adwords to generate $20.

Remember: time is the only limited resource you have. Money is not.

With the article marketing example, you could work 8 hours per day and create an income stream of $160 per day.

With the Google Adwords example, you could create an unlimited amount of income. You could set your daily budget at $100 and generate $200 in revenue per day. You could set your ad budget at $1,000 per day and generate $2,000 in revenue.

Which would you rather do?

Article marketing or Google Adwords?

I hope I’ve managed to get my point across here. Sometimes I struggle to put my thoughts into words.

#2 – Converting Traffic Into Subscribers

Okay, now that we’re driving traffic, we need to convert this traffic into subscribers. I believe list building to be the most important thing you can do online.

With your own list you have incredible leverage.

I find converting traffic into subscribers to be surprisingly easy. Here’s how I do it.

Firstly you need to be driving traffic to a page with the sole purpose being to get the visitor to become a subscriber. This is called a squeeze page and is essentially a short salesletter.

This page converts at about 42% CONFIRMED opt-in rate.

  • I believe your squeeze page should contain:
  • A strong benefit focussed headline
  • An opt-in form ABOVE THE FOLD (meaning the visitor doesn’t have to subscribe to see your form)
  • A few paragraphs about your offer
  • The benefits of subscribing
  • Perhaps one testimonial

It’s also important to test various squeeze pages. Just change one small factor on each page and compare the conversions. Once you find a winner, test that page against another.

The major problem with double opt-in is that a lot of subscribers don’t confirm their email address. Inside Accelerated List Building I reveal a simple trick that I used to more than double my confirmation rate.

#3 – Converting Subscribers Into Sales

There’s no use having subscribers without converting them into buyers. This could be for your own products and services or for affiliate products you recommend.

Believe me when I tell you that you will make 100xs more if you treat your subscribers well, provide valuable, original content and communicate with them with various types of media, such as video, audio and text than if you simply send promo after promo after promo.

You need to see your subscribers as real human beings; not as names and email addresses. At the end of every email you send is a human being. Consider their thoughts, emotions and desires when you email them.

Of course, send the occasional promotional email – that’s how you make your money, but don’t do it all the time. I recommend you follow the 75% content and 25% pitch rule. In other words, three out of four emails should be pure content and the other email can be a promotion for a product or service.

Still, make your promotions educational. Share some tips within the promotion. It will drastically boost your response rate. Look at the page below from Chris Rempel. He’s selling a report, but gives away some of the most valuable information within the sales letter. Very clever marketing!
